Kamarkas is a gum of Palash tree (Tesu Tree or Dhak Tree) and in south India. It is known as Brihmavriksham tree. It is a reddish colour or blackish-reddish colour gum/gond mainly known as Kamarkas, Palash Gond, Gond chuniya. It’s botanical name is Butea monosperma or Butea frondosa and English name is flame of forest.
