Epsom salt is also known as magnesium sulfate. It is used to relax muscles and relieve pain in the shoulders, neck, back and skull. It is a chemical compound that is made up of magnesium, sulfur, and oxygen.

Helpful in relaxing the muscles surrounding your skull, the magnesium in Epsom salt may help release a headache or migraine.

It gets its name from the town of Epsom in Surrey, England, where it was originally discovered. This is quite bitter and inedible.

It is a completely different compound than table salt. It was most likely termed “salt” because of its chemical structure.

Table salt, also known as sodium chloride, it is made up of sodium and chlorine. Epsom salt is derived from a naturally occurring magnesium sulfate mineral called epsomite, which carries the chemical components magnesium, sulfur, and oxygen.
